The Diocese of Southwark, and the people in its parish churches, work hard to safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults. We aim to create safe environments, where children and young people are nurtured and protected; and where all people, and especially those who may be vulnerable for any reason, are able to worship and pursue their faith journey with encouragement and in safety. Southwark Diocese has implemented ‘A Safe Church’ which provides a framework safeguarding policy for children and vulnerable adults. St Matthew’s takes its responsibilities in this regard extremely seriously. Our Parish Safeguarding Officers are Greg and Katalin Simmonds who between them have extensive experience and knowledge in the fields of childcare and early years education and compliance.
If you need to get in contact with our Parish Safeguarding Officers please telephone or email the Parish Office.
