In line with many Anglican churches at St Matthew’s we welcome children (from about the age of 8) taking Holy Communion, after they have received a course of preparation. Otherwise, we welcome all children to receive a blessing after they return from their groups to join the whole church towards the end of our monthly 11am Communion Service.
Receiving children to take Communion is the cause for great celebration and we do what we can to make the children feel special to God and within their church family. Please speak to Rev Helen Hancock if you would like to know more.
We carried out our second course of preparation in summer 2016 with the children taking Communion for the first time in July. Please continue to pray for all our children and young people that their faith may develop as they grow.
