Open Church . . .

The scaffolding will soon be up but we’re still open for business – every Saturday morning and of course Sundays as usual.

What a difference a week makes . . ..

This was as people were gathering for our 5.45 AM Easter Sunday Morning Service which began out in the garden around the fire . . .

then just a week later . . . .

. . . how many men does it take to make a hole in the church floor?!

Champion Fundraiser

Our thanks to Elaine Blackmore for being our champion fundraiser for the Tower and Spire Appeal so far.   The Quiz Night which many enjoyed at the cornerHOUSE last Saturday raised nearly £500 and was the second fundraising event which Elaine has organised there in the last couple of months.

St Matthew’s wins No-bell prize

Last Sunday the bells were played for the last time before their removal for renovation and safe storage – thanks Jeff!

Lots of skill and hard work all week has meant they are now down and we look forward to welcoming them back before the end of the year.

Bring and Share Lunch – Sunday 27th January

On Sunday 27th Jan we are delighted to be welcoming back Peter and Davina Irwin-Clark who were our speakers on our AwayWeekend last October.  Peter will be preaching at both of our services.  To extend our time with them everyone is invited to join in a Bring and Share lunch from 12.15pm.

Heritage Open Days coming very soon . . . .

And if you can’t make it to our Fun Day this Saturday, what about coming to our Heritage Open Days Thurs 13 – Sun 16, lots to see, learn, do and refreshments too!   Come and visit the fascinating new Exhibition based around our WWI War Memorial, have a go at playing our new bell frame, make some bunting and explore the heritage of our beautiful building.
